Surveying Teachers about Evaluator Feedback

IESMany states are developing or implementing teacher evaluation systems that include feedback to teachers as one part of the evaluation process. Do teachers find the feedback they receive to be useful and high quality?

Regional Educational Laboratory Central has created an easy-to-use survey toolkit to help administrators answer this question in their state or district.

The toolkit includes:

  • Survey questions for teachers about key aspects of evaluator feedback including their perceptions about: usefulness, accuracy, credibility, access to resources, and responsiveness.
  • Suggestions for survey administration, customization, analysis, and possible next steps.

The survey tool was developed using an iterative process that included expert review, cognitive interviews, and a pilot study. Evidence regarding the reliability and validity of the survey tool is also reported.

Access the survey tool at: http://www.ies.ed.gov/ncee/edlabs/projects/project.asp?projectID=333.
