The Center on Great Teachers and Leaders\u2019 updated toolkit helps states and districts design M&amp;I programs that support beginning teachers in strengthening classroom instruction in high-need schools and classrooms.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GTL Center\u2019s Mentoring and Induction Toolkit is a ready-to-use resource for educators working to build strong mentoring and induction programs. The purpose of the GTL Center\u2019s Mentoring and Induction Toolkit is to provide tools, resources, and support to facilitate meaningful conversations about the design and implementation of effective, high-quality mentoring and induction programs. Toolkit materials summarize research and best practices, highlight relevant examples, and provide streamlined processes for action planning.<br><br>Each module includes:<br>\u2022 an anchor presentation that summarizes research and best practices<br>\u2022 handouts that provide supplemental information, and<br>\u2022 team tools to facilitate discussion.<br> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br>The M&amp;I Toolkit 2.0 includes new content for existing modules 1\u20135 to support design and implementation of M&amp;I in high-need contexts. For example, how do you develop a pool of mentor teachers when most of the teaching staff are beginning or emergency-certified teachers? Toolkit 2.0 also includes two brand-new modules (6\u20137). Modules are as follows<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Introduction to the Toolkit<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Mentor Recruitment, Selection and Assignment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Mentor Professional Learning, Development and Assessment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Beginning Teacher Professional Learning and Development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. The Principal&#8217;s Role in Mentoring and Induction<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. M&amp;I Supports for Educators of Students with Disabilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.
