In the new era of teacher evaluation reform, policymakers at all levels have instituted unprecedented changes in teacher evaluation with the goal of improving student outcomes.\u00a0 Though research has shown that many teachers do embrace adopting meaningful evaluation systems, their voices have remained largely unheard at the evaluation reform discussion table.<\/p>\n

Enter Everyone at the Table: Engaging Teachers in Evaluation Reform<\/em>, a new
\nonline resource developed by the American Institutes for Research and Public Agenda.\u00a0 The site compiles materials to \u201cgenuinely engage teachers and stimulate candid and respectful dialogue\u201d through providing resources and materials for starting the conversation at the local level.\u00a0 The materials promote dialogue, options and choices, and focusing on \u201cprinciples, not specifics.\u201d<\/p>\n

The project provides videos, PowerPoint presentations, tools, and templates that can be adapted to specific situations and contexts.\u00a0 It is hoped that by utilizing these resources, education leaders will be able to:<\/p>\n

1. Gain insight about teachers\u2019 priorities and concerns when it comes to evaluation.<\/p>\n

2. Brainstorm innovative ideas for assessing teacher effectiveness.<\/p>\n

3. Promote structured, constructive dialogue regarding new approaches to evaluation.<\/p>\n

4. Secure critical buy-in from teachers to ensure a smooth implementation of the reforms.<\/p>\n
