According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nagc.org\/sites\/default\/files\/key%20reports\/2014-2015%20State%20of%20the%20States%20%28final%29.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report,\u00a0<\/a> &#8220;Twenty-two states don&#8217;t require districts to submit education plans for gifted students, 19 don&#8217;t monitor or audit gifted education programs and 28 states have no gifted education performance indicators on their report cards.&#8221; The report points to the successes of what is already in place in about half of the states, but also illuminates the need for much work still to be done.<\/p>\n<p>The organizations that released this report, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nagc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Association for Gifted Children<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups\/4714640\/profile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Council of State Directors of Programs for the Gifted<\/a>, are continuing to encourage legislators, parents, administrators, and teachers to advocate for the changes needed to ensure that our most capable students are able to maximize their
