Building on previous studies, including last year\u2019s<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/gradnation.org\/report\/dont-call-them-dropouts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t Call Them Dropouts<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, this report offers new insights about how support from adults and peers can help to close the remaining gaps between those who graduate from high school on time and those who don\u2019t.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe know a great deal from previous research on youth development that relationships are instrumental in helping young people stay in school,\u201d said<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jonathan Zaff<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, PhD, the report\u2019s lead author and executive director of the Center for Promise. \u201cBut now we need to know more about how, when, and why these relationships matter and what it takes to make the right support available at the right time for young people who are not graduating on time. That\u2019s what we set out to learn.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The title, \u201cDon\u2019t Quit on Me,\u201d echoes the many young people who expressed gratitude to those who didn\u2019t give up on them and represents a call to action for caring adults.
