{"id":4729,"date":"2014-10-24T08:00:02","date_gmt":"2014-10-24T12:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.coreeducationllc.com\/blog2\/?p=4729"},"modified":"2020-03-03T17:39:40","modified_gmt":"2020-03-03T21:39:40","slug":"school-climate-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coreeducationllc.com\/blog2\/school-climate-change\/","title":{"rendered":"School Climate Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coreeducationllc.com\/blog2\/webinar-perspectives-on-the-future-of-teacher-preparation-in-the-digital-age\/allianceforexcellenteducation\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2356\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2356\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.coreeducationllc.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/allianceforexcellenteducation.png?resize=291%2C109\" alt=\"allianceforexcellenteducation\" width=\"291\" height=\"109\" \/><\/a><\/strong>According to a new Alliance for Excellent Education report, supporting great teaching is key to a positive school climate and academic success for at-risk students.<\/p>\n<p>With schools implementing higher academic standards that require engaging and effective teaching, a new report from the <a href=\"http:\/\/all4ed.org\/\">Alliance for Excellent Education<\/a> in partnership with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.otlcampaign.org\/\">National Opportunity to Learn Campaign<\/a> finds that far too many low-income students and students of color do not have access to great teaching that supports a positive school environment. The report, <em>Climate Change: Improving School Climate by Supporting Great Teaching<\/em>, asserts that teachers do not always have the preparation and support needed to develop necessary skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents in the most challenged schools benefit most from teachers who possess the \u2018know how\u2019 to create positive learning environments,\u201d said Bob Wise, president of the Alliance for Excellent Education and former governor of West Virginia. \u201cUnfortunately, many teachers in these schools lack the training and support necessary to create learning environments that are as dynamic inside the classroom as they are in the community and workforce outside the classroom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As today\u2019s classrooms continue evolving to prepare students to meet the demands they will face upon high school graduation, the knowledge and skills a teacher possesses become increasingly important.
