The coalition is releasing its own &#8220;roadmap&#8221; to get the work done. The roadmap contains action items for profession-ready principals and teachers, including the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strengthen the Principal\/Teacher Recruitment Pipeline<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Principals\/Teachers are Profession-Ready<\/li>\n<li>Create Opportunities for Continuous Professional Growth and Learning<\/li>\n<li>Provide Pathways for Principal Leadership\/Teacher Leadership and Voice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For example, the groups recommend that every teacher complete a residency under the guidance of an accomplished teacher.<\/p>\n<p>The report and briefings come after the Education Department&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/about\/offices\/list\/ocr\/index.html\">Office for Civil Rights<\/a> released guidance recently reminding schools to make sure all students have equal access to educational resources, including effective teachers.\u00a0 The Obama administration is expected to release a rule aimed at regulating teacher preparation programs in the upcoming weeks as well.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, please visit: <a href=\"http:\/\/coalitionforteachingquality.org\/main\/index.cfm?ID=7\">http:\/\/coalitionforteachingquality.org\/main\/index.cfm?ID=7<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 100 education advocacy groups are imploring Congress and the administration to make sure all students have access to effective teachers.
